Caregiving is a journey. For some, it is a sprint, for others it is an ultra marathon. Washington County CARES is hosting the Walk [run] in Their Shoes 5K Run/walk to honor Buzz Sawyer and his dedicated caregivers. Buzz founded and administered the JFK 50, the nation’s longest running ultra marathon, for many years. Through this event, CARES will raise awareness for the needs of caregivers while raising funds to help provide needy caregivers with a much needed break from time to time. You can help by running or walking, helping to raise money, or simply watching from the bleachers. Here are all the details:
Date: April 14th
Time: Registration begins at 7:30 am and
Race begins at 9:00 am
Prizes: 1st - $100, 2nd - $75, 3rd - $50 for both men’s and women’s overall finishers
Where: Williamsport High school stadium
Fee: $20 per person before 4/5
$25 per person after 4/5
